Grab N Win uses a DC motor to drive the crane left and right. Under normal operating conditions during the startup routine the games main board will move the wagon assembly toward the prize chute by driving the motor either left or right until the assembly reaches the side wall of the game. . The main board waits from the response from the magnetic sensor located on the side of the assembly if the sensor signal is not seen within a period of time the game will generate an error 3.
The motor is connected to the P1 connector between pin 9 (orange wire) and 12 (green wire). To test the output from the main board place your multi meter probes between the two pins and set your meter to DC voltage. Coin the game up and press the joystick to the left or the right and you should see ~8 to 12vdc , when you reverse the direction of the joystick the voltage should reverse polarity.
The game determines the position of the wagon assembly by using a magnetic reed sensor which is located rear left or right corner of the assembly. When the assembly reaches the side wall of the game the sensor comes into a magnet in the corner of the cabinet. To test the sensor place your probes between pin 3 (red wire) and pin 8 (black wire). When the sensor and magnet are apart you will see 3.3vdc and when they are together you will see 0vdc. If the signal for the sensor is low at 0vdcc the main board will disable the ability to move the motor towards the direction of the sensor.
